8-Day Great Migration Safari

Tour Overview

Experience one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife journeys on this private eight-day Great Migration safari through the Ngorongoro Crater, Central Serengeti and a seasonally selected Serengeti migration area.

Begin among the volcanic landscapes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area before descending into the Ngorongoro Crater. Its grassland, woodland, wetland and lakeshore habitats support an impressive concentration of wildlife.

Continue into Central Serengeti, an important year-round wildlife area known for open plains, river valleys, rocky kopjes and resident populations of lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes and grazing animals.

The second part of your Serengeti safari will be adjusted around the expected movement of the Great Migration. Depending on your travel dates, the route may focus on the Ndutu and southern plains, Central Serengeti, the Western Corridor or Northern Serengeti.

Spend several days searching for wildebeest and zebra herds, predators, seasonal gatherings and other wildlife. Your guide will select daily routes according to recent sightings, rainfall, road conditions and information received from other professional guides.

Migration locations, river crossings, calving events and individual wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed. The herds move naturally in response to changing environmental conditions.

This itinerary is a customizable starting point. Accommodation, activities, domestic flights, arrival arrangements and travel pace can be adjusted around your dates, group size, comfort preference and budget.
