Day 1: Lushoto and Magamba Forest

Meet your local trekking guide in Lushoto for an introduction to the Usambara Mountains and a briefing about the four-day journey.

Continue towards Magamba Forest for a guided walk through shaded forest trails. Depending on the selected route, you may visit viewpoints, historical sites and areas known for birds, butterflies and distinctive highland vegetation.

After the forest walk, return to Lushoto and settle into your guesthouse or lodge. Your guide will review the following day's walking plan and any required preparations.

After breakfast, begin a guided walk from Lushoto through cultivated hills, local settlements and peaceful countryside towards Irente Viewpoint.

Arrive at Irente Viewpoint and enjoy extensive views across the plains below the mountain escarpment. Stop for lunch before continuing your walk or returning to Lushoto using the confirmed route.

Later, begin the return journey to Lushoto. Upon arrival, continue with your onward travel or stay an additional night. Transfers to Arusha, Moshi, the coast or another destination can be arranged separately.
